Service
Custom Hours provides a software service for time tracking, project tracking, employee hour registration, approvals, absence tracking, reporting, and related company administration workflows.
Company operator
Custom Hours is operated by Custom Projects AS, a Norwegian aksjeselskap. Organisation number: 934561112. Country: Norway.
Who may use the Service
The Service is intended for business use. Accounts are created and managed by customer administrators. Employees use the Service under their employer's responsibility.
Customer responsibilities
- Ensure that use of the Service complies with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure that employee, project, absence, and hour data entered into the Service is lawful and accurate.
- Protect access credentials and prevent unauthorized use.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are handled through Stripe. Pricing is shown on the public pricing section before signup. Unless stated otherwise, prices are shown excluding MVA/VAT. Stripe calculates and adds applicable tax during checkout based on billing details. Customers can manage or cancel their subscription from their account. Access rules may depend on account billing status.
Cancellation and refunds
Customers may cancel their subscription. Payments already made are generally non-refundable unless required by law or agreed separately. For billing issues, contact Custom Projects AS by email at support@customhours.no.
If a customer owner chooses immediate workspace deletion while a Stripe subscription is still active or otherwise recoverable, the Service may cancel the Stripe subscription immediately before deleting the workspace. Immediate deletion ends access to the workspace and unused paid time is not automatically refunded, unless required by law or agreed separately.
Availability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates, or incidents may cause temporary downtime.
Data and ownership
Customer data remains owned by the customer. Custom Hours processes data only to provide the Service, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable data protection agreements.
Data export and deletion
Customer owners may request a workspace data export from the account settings. The export is provided as a JSON export and may include company information, employees, projects, project assignments, hour entries, absences, activity events, and related data request records.
Customer owners may also request deletion of workspace data. Final deletion requires an explicit confirmation phrase and is intended to be permanent and irreversible. Deletion may involve anonymization, disabling the company, revoking sessions, clearing notes and personal identifiers, and marking operational records such as hour entries and absences as deleted.
When workspace deletion is requested, the Service records a retention-until date that is currently 90 days after the deletion request. Final workspace deletion anonymizes or disables active application data when the customer owner explicitly confirms deletion. The 90-day marker does not mean that all database rows are automatically physically purged after 90 days.
If the deleted workspace is the user's only active company membership, the user's global account email may be anonymized or released so the email can be used again for a new signup. If the user still belongs to another active company, the global account email may be retained so access to that other company can continue.
Some information may be retained where required for billing, accounting, security, legal compliance, dispute handling, audit integrity, or backup rotation. Production database recovery is handled by Render. The current Render PostgreSQL setup supports point-in-time recovery for the past 7 days. Logical database export files, if created, are retained by Render for at least 7 days.
Acceptable use
The Service must not be used for unlawful activity, unauthorized access attempts, abuse, disruption, or activity that harms the Service, other customers, or third parties.
Limitations of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Custom Projects AS is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service.
Termination
Customers may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access in cases of misuse, security risk, unpaid billing status, or legal requirement.
Termination or cancellation does not automatically delete all customer data immediately. Customers may request export or deletion where applicable. Certain records may be retained for the reasons described in these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any applicable data processing agreement.
Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes means acceptance of the updated Terms.
